The Canada Line, connecting Richmond and Vancouver located on the Vancouver end of the Cambie corridor, contains two octagonal columns that contain insufficient confinement reinforcement at the top ends of the columns. An analysis was completed by Buckland Taylor Ltd. and was found that an axial demand of 2617kN force is to be supplemented by the Tyfo® Fibrwrap System.
Solution:
Fibrwrap Installations Limited installed the Fyfe Company Tyfo® SCH-41 product to supplement the required confinement reinforcement to the aforementioned columns.
Summary:
By utilizing leading edge technology, consulting engineers Buckland & Taylor Ltd. and the Fyfe Company in house Engineers were able to create a cost effective solution alternate to conventional construction methods using Fyfe Company's Tyfo® product installed by Fibrwrap® Installations Ltd. |
